Volunteers maintain and run the old sugar cane locomotives for the general public to enjoy. They operate on Sundays and public holidays and occasionally have special features such as the track laying demonstration and Hogwarts Express.

The Bundaberg Arts Centre is an A-Grade regional gallery based in the Central Business District of Bundaberg City. The Centre features three exhibition spaces that host regional, state and national traveling exhibitions and curated local exhibitions of visual arts, crafts and social history.

Hinkler Glider Museum is home to a life size replica of Bert Hinklers 1912 Glider and also the wing section of the original glider which inspired it all. Built by the Bundaberg Lions Club in the late 1970s, this glider represents the creative and innovative mind Bert Hinkler possessed. The museum also outlines Bert Hinklers fantastic achievements through news clippings and timeline information.

Mon Repos Turtle Rookery is the largest and most accessible Loggerhead Turtle Rookery on the Australian Mainland. Each year from November to March, turtles come ashore and nest, followed six to eight weeks later by the emergence of baby 'hatchling' from their sandy nests. Guided tours operate nightly during the season by Queensland Parks & Wildlife Service Rangers allow close up experiences with these ancient mariners.
